Capacity building Cycles in Sweden

As the Swedish reception system for asylum seekers is mainly managed by the Swedish Migration Agency, the Swedish Red Cross – SRK– is collaborating with the Swedish Migration Agency in order to implement the SWIM-project in Sweden.

Together with the Swedish Migration Agency, SRK have decided to offer the training cycles to the operators working at the accommodation centres around Sweden. They meet the asylum seekers daily in their everyday environment and are therefore in a position where they might identify gender related violence.

SRK have now facilitated five out of six training cycles in different regions of Sweden. The feed back as well as our experiences have been very positive.

The participants have been sharing experiences and discussed the topic and almost all the participants have been asking for more education on the subject.
